Seers is a Bible study group
that meets monthly and consists of people who wish to know more about the
Bible. There is no specific age group as it is open to all. We meet at
different peoples' houses rather than at the church, typically on the first
Monday or Tuesday evening of each month. An email is sent to current
members of details of the next meeting If you are interested, and would like
to be added to the list please feel free to send an email to Chris Oyentunde
at
chrisoyentunde [at] yahoo [dot]
co [dot] uk.
Meetings vary and are relaxed
enough to accomodate specifc things people want to talk about as well
as items planned in advance. We will always spend time in prayer, in
addition to which we will study the Bible (be it a specific theme, book or
verse), talk about current affairs in a Christian light, talk about
individual needs or circumstances and make use of Nooma DVDs (Nooma is a
Christian organisation that produce 20 minute DVDs, of which there are a
few; they also include a question booklet).
The
name explains what the group tries to achieve. We feel that the Bible is
important and forms the map of how to live our lives as Christians. As
such we try to 'see' what God wants us to do through the Bible - hence the
group being called 'Seers' |
