This group has been meeting regularly for over
20 years and is now an integral part of the life of Trinity Church. It is an
informal time of fellowship with each other and is normally held at 10.30
a.m. on Thursdays at 8 St Martin's Road.
The format of the sessions has changed somewhat
over the years but we currently spend the first hour chatting and sharing
experiences over refreshments. We then have our devotiona l
time, which varies in its context but always includes hymn-singing and
prayers and our concerns for others, both in our own church family and
beyond. Sometimes we read and discuss a Bible passage whilst at other times
we will seek to discover how our Christian faith can affect our own views on
topics of current interest. Recent topics have included Fairtrade, asylum
seekers, the homless and environmental issues.
Occasionally, we have a bring-and-buy sale in
support of one of Trinity's chosen charities (see
Outreach) and we have an annual one in May for Christian Aid. In the
summer months, weather permitting, we meet more informally outdoors. |
